Terms of Use – My Inner Compass

These terms of use (“Terms”) apply to your use of the My Inner Compass mobile application and related services. By downloading, installing or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. The service

My Inner Compass is a mobile app that offers card-based reflections and AI-generated personalised messages (“fortunes”) for entertainment and self-reflection. The service is provided at psychicmel.co.uk and via the My Inner Compass app on iOS and Android.

The content and fortunes are for entertainment and reflection only. They are not a substitute for professional advice (including legal, medical, financial or psychological advice). Do not rely on them for important decisions.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use My Inner Compass. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that you have the right to enter into these Terms.

3. Account and use

To use the app you complete an onboarding flow and provide a name and email (and optionally your date of birth). You are responsible for keeping your device and account access secure. You must not use the app for any illegal purpose or in any way that could harm the service, other users, or third parties.

4. Credits and in-app purchases

Credits. The app uses a credit system. You receive a limited number of free credits when you sign up. Each time you reveal a reading, one credit is used. You can purchase additional credits in the app.
Purchases. In-app purchases (including credit packs) are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) and by RevenueCat. By making a purchase, you also agree to the applicable store’s terms and conditions. Payment is taken by the store; we do not store your payment card details.
Refunds and cancellations. Refund requests and subscription cancellations are handled by Apple or Google in line with their policies. Contact the store through which you made the purchase (e.g. Report a Problem in the App Store, or Google Play order help). We cannot process refunds directly.
No guarantee of availability. We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Credits and purchases are for use within the My Inner Compass service only and have no cash value outside the app.

5. Acceptable use

You must not use the app to:

Harass, abuse or harm others, or distribute illegal or offensive content.
Attempt to reverse-engineer, hack or disrupt the app or our systems.
Resell, sublicense or commercially exploit the app or its content beyond normal personal use.

We may suspend or terminate your access if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms or applicable law.

6. Intellectual property

The app, its design, text, images, and the “My Inner Compass” name and branding are owned by us or our licensors. You may use the app for your personal, non-commercial use only. You do not acquire any ownership or rights in our intellectual property.

7. Disclaimers

The app and its content are provided “as is”. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, secure or uninterrupted. Fortunes and reflections are generated for entertainment and reflection only and are not professional advice. We are not liable for any decisions or actions you take based on content in the app.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

We (and our affiliates, directors, employees and agents) are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of the app (including loss of data, profits or goodwill).
Our total liability to you for any claims arising from or related to these Terms or the app shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or £50 if you have not paid anything).

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

9. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the app or your account if you breach these Terms or for other reasonable cause. On termination, your right to use the app ceases. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including disclaimers, limitation of liability and governing law) will continue to apply.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the “Last updated” date. If changes are significant, we may notify you in the app or by email where we have it. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you should stop using the app.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where you are a consumer and the law of your country gives you mandatory rights that cannot be varied by contract.
