This is the official Privacy Policy for the My Inner Compass mobile application (“the App”), published on the Google Play Store, Apple App Store and other platforms by Media Meadow Limited, the developer and operator of My Inner Compass.
This privacy policy describes how we collect, use and protect your information when you use the My Inner Compass mobile application and related services. It is written to comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA 2018).
My Inner Compass is the mobile app and related services offered by Media Meadow Limited at psychicmel.co.uk. Media Meadow Limited is a UK company and, for the purposes of UK GDPR and the DPA 2018, is the data controller for the personal data we collect through the app and our API.
When you complete the onboarding flow, you answer a short set of reflective questions. We store these answers on our servers so we can personalise your experience and improve our service. They are linked to your account (user ID), not shared with third parties for marketing.
We store your credit balance on our servers and log when credits are added (e.g. after a purchase or restore) or used. In‑app purchases are handled by Apple (and, on Android, Google) and by RevenueCat. We do not store your payment card details. RevenueCat and the stores may collect and process data in accordance with their own privacy policies.
If you opt in to push notifications, we store your device token on our servers so we can send you notifications. You can turn notifications off in your device settings or in the app at any time.
The app stores data on your device (e.g. your profile, user ID, credit balance, and cached saved readings) so it can work offline and sync when online. This data stays on your device and is only sent to our servers when the app needs to sync (e.g. saving a reading, adding credits, or registering for push).
We use the information above to:
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your confession or fortune content for advertising or for training AI models.
Under the UK GDPR we process your personal data only where we have a lawful basis. We rely on the following (Article 6(1) UK GDPR):
We may share data only as follows:
When you submit text in the app (for example, your “confession” when doing a reading), that text is anonymised before it is sent to our AI provider. We do not include your name, email address, user ID or any other identifier with the text when it is submitted for AI processing. The AI provider receives only the anonymised text and the type of response required (for example, to generate a personalised written response or to interpret or translate the content in the context of your card choice).
The anonymised text is sent to a third‑party AI service (Anthropic) under our instructions to produce the written response you see in the app (such as your fortune). The AI provider processes it solely to generate that response and does not use your submissions to train its models. We do not mention or link your confession (or other submitted text) to your identity when sending it for AI processing.
If you save a reading to My Deck, we store the card, your confession and the fortune on our servers so you can view them again; that stored copy is under our control and is not sent back to the AI provider.
We keep your account and associated data (profile, readings, credits, logs) for as long as you have an account. If you ask us to delete your account and personal data, we will do so in line with our procedures and legal obligations, except where we must retain data for legal or safety reasons.
Under the UK GDPR and the DPA 2018 you have the right to:
You may withdraw consent at any time (e.g. for push notifications) without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. We would encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve your concern. To exercise any of these rights or to ask a question about your data, please contact us using the details below.
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data (e.g. encryption in transit, access controls, secure hosting) in line with UK GDPR Article 32. No system is completely secure; we will notify you and the ICO where we are required to do so if a personal data breach affects your rights and freedoms.
My Inner Compass is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from under‑16s. If you believe we have collected data from a child under 16, please contact us and we will delete it.
Your data may be processed in the UK, the EEA, or in other countries where our or our providers’ servers are located. Under UK GDPR Chapter V, where we transfer personal data outside the UK we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place (e.g. UK adequacy regulations, UK international data transfer agreement or UK addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses).
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the “Last updated” date. If changes are significant, we may notify you in the app or by email where we have it. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
